J. Howard Stecker, CPA Howard Stecker has more than 29 years of experience building and directing best-in-class insurance consulting and insurance finance organizations. Recently joining SMART from Prudential Financial, Inc., where he served as the Chief Tax Officer, Howard is the Managing Partner of SMART and Associates, LLP. As Chief Tax Officer for Prudential, Howard was responsible for all Federal, state and foreign tax matters of the global enterprise. Before joining Prudential, Howard spent a total of 17 years in public accounting, including eleven years at Deloitte & Touche, LLP serving in various leadership roles. His most recent position with Deloitte was Managing Partner, Global Insurance Tax Services in which he was responsible for the firm’s global insurance tax practice. Howard received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Texas, Austin, and a Master of Professional Accounting in taxation from the University of Texas, Arlington. He is a Fellow of the Life Office Management Institute (FLMI) and is a licensed CPA. |
